Dan Burns was born in Sharon, a
town of about 24,000 in western Pennsylvania. He now lives near Columbus, OH, with Diana (his wife), Nathan
(his son), Paul (his step-son) 2 cats and a dog. He also has a daughter, Wendy, and another step-son, Matt. The
greatest joys in his life are his two grandchildren, Lauren and Parker.
He has dabbled in writing most of his
life. When he came up with the idea for Call of the Unicorn, he took up writing in earnest. He's
been working on the book for the last seven years. Yes, he knows. It's time to get the thing done!
It's a fantasy story about Tony Rinaldi, who's sucked into a world of wizards, monsters and faeries. So far, he's
completed 12 chapters and figures that he's about half-way done.
His writing background includes
having completed the Institute of Children's Literature, attending the Columbus Writer's Conference for the past four
years (www.creativevista.com) and attending the Writers Retreat Workshop (www.writersretreatworkshop.com) in May, 2007. His immediate goal is to get Call of the Unicorn published,
and his eventual goal is to earn enough money from writing to take up writing full time.
His motto:
WRITE FASTER!!
